The person in charge in Japan is just one of department manager. What's important for him is to report what is going on here to his higher management. On the other hand, what the management here is doing is to manage the company, which includes so many things such as human resources, long term strategy and customers .... The priority here is totally different from that in Japan and I think that's right. I wouldn't a management, if he spends a lot of time on thinking of how to explain to a shareholder.The budget is not as important as what Japanease think of. But it doesn't mean their management is loose. They just focus on the more important issues.

Roughly right is better than precisely wrong
Today I spent most of time on translating Japanese questions to English. Their questions are in details. Japanese like details. The more details it is, the more precise it looks. But that's not necessarily truth. Japanese should know the old saying that "roughly right is better than precisely wrong."
