Netbook / Toshiba NB205-N311

Today I bought Netbook, Toshiba NB205-N311, by $399.
Spec of netbook almost similar. CPU is Intel Atom, Memory 1GB, Windows XP, storage 160GB. The reason I bought the machine is

1)Battery is up to more than 9 hours. It's the best among machines at store.
2)Keyboard suits me.
3)I feel familar with Toshiba brand as a Japanese.

I am now satisfied with this netbook, but a trouble happened when I tried to install Japanese language package to the computer. When installation is about to start, the window pop up message says Windows XP CD is needed to install Japanese language package. This is netbook ! CD drive is not equipped and Windows XP CD is not contained in a box ! But I finally found following site. The trouble in the site is exactly the same as my case. I could solve my problem thanks to this site. I really appreciate who question and answer !

  1. Techman - I'm also going to post your solution here in the section so I can mark it as solved.

    Windows searches for the file, then returns the popup that it can't find the file and asks you to locate the installation source yourself, returning the last path it was searching which was C:\Windows\i386\i386, deleting the extra "i386" worked fine for a few files until it would once again be unable to find the file, pointing to C:\Windows\i386\i386, but simply deleting the extra "i386" again seems to get it through the installation process.

    In summary, if the netbook can't find the installation files and returns:
    C:\Windows\i386\i386 (change to) --> C:\Windows\i386\
    or if it returns
    C:\Windows\i386\i386\lang (change to) --> C:\Windows\i386\lang

    This should solve the problem.

    I really wonder why tech support wasn't able to identify this as an issue. Thanks again Techman and thanks to Toshiba for having these forums.
